You see, Christ redeemed us! And we cannot add or take away from His redemptive work on the cross. That work was all-sufficient and all-inclusive. It is not being paid for on an installment plan, No! When Jesus-the spotless Lamb of God-shed His blood at Calvary, the redemptive work was completed once and for all!
I've heard many people say, "Well, if you do this the Lord will save you," or if you'll come to church regularly, the Lord will save you."
If we base our faith on anything less than the all-sufficient redemptive of Jesus, we are going to come up lacking. We're going to lack the ability to endure and stand strong. We'll lack the ability to hold fast to the promises of God.
Our human flesh tries to tell us that we have to do something, but our faith is enough! Our faith in Jesus changes us from sinners to believers. Our faith in Jesus changes us from sick to healed. Our faith changes us from bondage and captivity to freedom and liberty.
This Easter season, I encourage you to realize that our faith is sufficient to receive all of God's redemptive promises. It's time to get our eyes off of our own insufficiencies and onto Christ's sufficiency. Remember - Jesus said on the cross, "It is finished!" Stop trying to figure everything out. Just believe God. Because when we live in line with the Word and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, we will see His promises come to fruition in our life.
